In the heart of Seoul, a remarkable architectural transformation unfolds, showcasing the innovative work of Sukchulmok and BRBB Architects. Their latest endeavor, Myeongnyun Sogul, is a testament to their creative prowess, blending the old with the new in a harmonious dance of design. This project is a self-designed studio and residence, breathing new life into a 1970s brick building, a neighborhood icon in Myeongnyun-dong. The architects' approach is a delicate balance between preserving the building's original character and introducing a contemporary twist. The exterior remains true to its brick-clad roots, while the interiors are a masterpiece of curvilinear timber-lined spaces, creating a striking contrast. The design philosophy revolves around accentuating the building's aged texture, a nod to the neighborhood's rich history.
