In a bold move that marks a significant transition from his illustrious rugby career, James Roby, a celebrated figure in St Helens rugby league history, has taken a leap into the entrepreneurial world by launching his very own creative agency.
After dedicating two decades to the Saints and setting the record for the most game appearances, Roby is eager to apply the principles of "elite performance, consistency, and leadership" to this new endeavor. The agency, named HOUS, aims to redefine the landscape of creative services.
Teaming up with marketing and creative expert Nath Sharratt, along with former filmmaker for St Helens RFC, Josh Howard, Roby envisions HOUS as an agency that stands out through its commitment to authentic storytelling—a feature he believes is crucial in today’s media.
Reflecting on this exciting new journey, Roby shared, "After concluding my career in professional sports, I’m truly thrilled to embark on this venture alongside Nath and Josh. The HOUS Agency is founded on the teamwork, quality, and consistency that have been central to my career. We aim to collaborate with businesses across various sectors while also striving to establish ourselves as a trusted name within the realms of sports, music, and broader creative industries."
To celebrate the launch of HOUS, the agency has taken a significant step by announcing its sponsorship of Muay Thai athletes Danny Pretten and Leonie Hardman. They are particularly excited to support Hardman as she gears up to compete in the prestigious RWS (Rajadamnern World Series) in Thailand, where she will showcase her skills at the legendary Rajadamnern Stadium.
But here's where it gets intriguing: how will Roby's experience in sports translate into the competitive world of business? Can an athlete's discipline and team spirit truly make a difference in the creative sector? As HOUS begins its journey, many will be watching closely to see if it can carve out a niche in a crowded market. What do you think—can former athletes succeed as entrepreneurs?
